Riley no longer a candidate at Houston, according to report

A day after reports that Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley "killed it" during his interview for the vacant Houston head coaching job, the Houston Chronicle reported that Riley was no longer a candidate.

The paper reported that five potential coaches had been vetted for the position—Riley, interim coach/defensive coordinator Todd Orlando, offensive coordinator Major Applewhite, Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and former LSU/Oklahoma State coach Les Miles.

Tom Herman, who coached the Cougars to a win over the Sooners to start the season, recently left to take the head coaching job at Texas.
