Oklahoma Sooners Football: LB coach Tim Kish announces retirement

After seven years with the Oklahoma Sooners and 43 years in coaching, inside linebackers coach Tim Kish has announced his retirement. Kish originally came to Oklahoma when longtime colleague Mike Stoops was hired for his second stint in Norman.

With the firing of Stoops and defensive staff shake-up accompanying the hiring of Alex Grinch, this doesn’t exactly come as a surprise. Kish was able to pull off a few notable recruiting victories in more recent years, but he was just never able to consistently put out a quality product at his position group.

Prior to his arrival at Oklahoma, Kish held the positions of DC, linebackers coach and interim head coach during various stages of the Mike Stoops era at Arizona.
