Two-time defending national champion Florida will start the 2016 season atop the USA Today/NFCA Division I Preseason Coaches Poll, it was announced Tuesday.
The Gators received 26 of a possible 32 first-place votes and totaled 782.
Oklahoma, coming off a 49-9 season, was ranked ninth in the preseason poll.
The Sooners open their season in the Sportco Kick Off Classic in Las Vegas on Friday, Feb. 12. OU's home opener is scheduled for Saturday, March 5 against Dartmouth.
National runner-up Michigan garnered two first-place votes and 755 total points to come in at No. 2.
