Oklahoma football: OU-Texas produces unlikely heroes

The Sooners and Longhorns have combined for 140 consensus All Americans and have put 727 players into the NFL draft with 90 of those coming in the first round. Many of those players have left their permanent mark on one of sports’ greatest rivalries, but it isn’t always the heralded and hyped who come up big in the Cotton Bowl in October.

Oftentimes the biggest plays come from the unlikeliest of sources when the pressure is on. Just look back at recent examples for the Sooners.

In 2007 everyone remembers Adrian Peterson’s 225-yard Red River Showdown debut, but the man who iced the game was Kejuan Jones.
