Can Big 12 change national perception after years of poor bowl performances?

For college football teams, bowls are supposed to be a reward.

For the Big 12 the past two seasons, it’s been a bunch of nice trips without much of a payoff, as Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby is well aware.

“We’ve had the last two postseasons where we’ve won fewer than we lost,” Bowlsby said, “and we need to do a turn around.”

The Big 12 has gone 5-9 the past two seasons in bowl games, including a 3-4 mark last season. The conference hasn’t posted a winning bowl record since 2011-12, when it went 6-2.
