5 bold predictions for Oklahoma's 2018 season: At least one Sooner will be a Heisman Trophy finalist

Oklahoma’s season will be underway in less than a month, and the Sooners are once again expected to compete for a National Championship.

However, Lincoln Riley’s squad will have to replace several key pieces -- including Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield -- in order to get there.

Here are five bold predictions for the Sooners’ upcoming season.

  1. Oklahoma will have two 1,000-yard rushers. Quarterback Kyler Murray and running back Rodney Anderson are among the nation’s Heisman Trophy favorites for 2018, and their collaboration could lead to a fierce rushing attack. Assuming Murray wins the starting job, he has the wheels to become OU’s first 1,000-yard rusher at quarterback since Jack Mildren in 1971.
