Oklahoma Dominantes Auburn For 35-19 Win In Sugar Bowl

The Oklahoma Sooners put on a dominant performance on both side of the ball, cruising to a 35-19 victory over the Auburn Tigers in the Sugar Bowl.

Oklahoma's defense limited Auburn to just 338 total yards - including 154 yards passing - while their offense put up 524 yards. It marked the fourth straight game in which OU's offense had at least 485 yards, and third game in that stretch with at least 500 total yards.

Despite Oklahoma's domination, it was Auburn who actually got on the board first. That lead lasted for the whole first quarter, and it wasn't until late in the second quarter that the Sooners took the lead on this three-yard touchdown run from Joe Mixon.

That was the start of an onslaught from the Sooners, who scored a touchdown on five of six drives after failing to cross midfield on their first two drives of the game. That allowed Oklahoma to build a 35-13 lead, which is when arguably the biggest moment of the game occurred. On this 15-yard run, Samaje Perine become OU's all-time leading rusher:

Auburn added a meaningless touchdown on the last play of the game to make it 35-19.

It was all fun for the Sooners, who now end the season on a 10-game win streak to finish 11-2 on the season. Perine finished with 86 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while Mixon accounted for 180 total yards (91 rushing, 89 receiving) and two rushing touchdowns. Baker Mayfield threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns.

Auburn drops to 8-5 with the loss, and dropped three of their last four games. Kamryn Pettway was the lone standout on Auburn's offense, accounting for 101 yards and 24 carries.
