We’ve moved from days to hours as the NBA and the OKC Thunder have reached trade deadline day. This year has witnessed a very different lead up to deadline day as several big name stars have already been dealt. Additionally, the number of trades occurring leading up to this deadline is unprecedented. Last season 12 trades occurred on the deadline day but this season we’ve witnessed 11 trades in February and eight happened on the day prior.
Many pundits thought this would be a much quieter deadline but apparently not. Perhaps news Anthony Davis would not re-sign with the Pelicans opened the floodgates as teams decided to make their moves now.
