Jazz center, Edmond native Ekpe Udoh launches agricultural partnership with OSU-OKC

Ekpe Udoh is all about healthy eating. It’s why the Edmond native and Utah Jazz center was back in Oklahoma City this week for a unique partnership with Oklahoma State University.

Udoh visited OSU-OKC on Thursday to announce a partnership between the school and his Edmond-based hydroponic farming company, LGR Farms.

As part of the partnership, OSU-OKC will host an LGR Farms hydroponic shipping container inside the OSU-OKC Farmers Market pavilion. Vertically-grown lettuce, kale and an assortment of leafy greens fill the 40-foot- long container. The pesticide- and herbicide-free crops are fed with nutrients and filtered water and nurtured by LED lights in a temperature-controlled environment.
