Mountain Dew announced a groundbreaking partnership with Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook on Wednesday, making him the popular soft drink's first-ever spokesperson from the world of the National Basketball Association.
The partnership with Westbrook coincides with the beginning of Mountain Dew Kickstart's "It All Starts with a Kick" campaign, which will serve to promote new flavors of the increasingly popular drink.

"Becoming a part of the DEW Nation just felt really organic and authentic to me," Westbrook said in a statement. "The brand is an instigator - it's about creativity and looking at life through your own lens and living it the way you want to live it. Those are all attributes that are core to what I am."
