2 Draft Day Trades The Oklahoma City Thunder Could Make

We're just a couple hours away from the 2015 NBA Draft in Brooklyn, which means speculation is running wild among the fans and writers for all 30 NBA teams. With that being said, let's take a look at the buzz surrounding the Thunder with our list of 2 Draft Day Trades The Oklahoma City Thunder Could Make.

1. Trade Luke Ridnour's non-guaranteed deal, #14 pick and F Perry Jones III (or F Steve Novak) to Detroit Pistons for #9 pick

Poor Luke Ridnour must have vertigo from being traded so much over the past 24 hours, but why not add just one more stop on his confused plane ride from hell? Ridnour's deal would give the Pistons $2.75 million of wiggle room to find Greg Monroe's immediate replacement on the open market and would also net them a solid rotation piece in either Jones or Novak.

There's also the matter of Dion Waiters (more on that later) if the Thunder need to sweeten the pot.

In exchange, OKC could move up and snag a coveted piece such as Arizona's Stanley Johnson and worry about the future cost of the deal later down the road.

2. Trade #14 pick, G Dion Waiters, and F Steve Novak to Philadelphia 76ers for #26 (from San Antonio), F Robert Covington, two second round picks, and the Thunder's 2016 first round pick

The Thunder would pick up financial flexibility while offloading the polarizing Waiters for a later first round pick, their own pick back next year (which gives them more ammunition fora trade), two second rounders and a serviceable rotation piece in Covington. This would fit GM Sam Presti's M.O., regardless of how reticent he currently is to package Waiters in any trade talks.
