Ohio State: Pat Porter drafted by Houston Astros

The third player from the Ohio State Buckeyes to be selected in the 2015 MLB Draft was senior right fielder Pat Porter by the Houston Astros.

Porter was a four-year player for the Buckeyes, finishing with a career .283 batting average in 217 games played. He also had a .432 slugging percentage and hit 11 home runs in the process of the season.

Porter, who was the 439th selection (15th round) of the draft knocked in 49 RBIs his senior season at Ohio State, and 124 for his career from 2012-15.

Porter played in 55 games for the Buckeyes in ’15, where he also scored 43 runs and had 71 hits, including nine doubles and four triples.
