Former Ohio State wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez is reportedly pursuing a career in politics.

Gonzalez, 32, has filed paperwork that indicates he could be planning to run for an Ohio congressional seat in 2018, according to a report from the Associated Press.

The report indicates that Gonzalez, who played for Jim Tressel from 2004-06, has filed his paperwork as a Republican. Gonzalez has not yet formally announced his intentions to run for congress.

During his playing days with the Buckeyes, Gonzalez accumulated 1,286 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in three seasons. He was drafted with the 32nd overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts, but lasted just five seasons in the league as he battled injuries for most of his professional career.
