Reggie Nelson, Neiron Ball sitting out against Titans

Raiders safety Reggie Nelson isn’t suiting up and won’t play in Saturday’s exhibition game against the Tennessee Titans.

Nelson missed the past week of practice with an undisclosed injury that relegated him to working out on the side. Raiders coach Jack Del Rio had already indicated Thursday that Nelson would probably sit this one out.

Nate Allen presumably moves into the starting lineup in Nelson’s place.

Also sitting out Saturday’s game is linebacker Neiron Ball, who has missed some practices here and there as he returns from a pair of knee surgeries. It’s not inconceivable to think his roster spot could, at some point, be in question with players like Korey Toomer and Corey James moving ahead of him.
