Raiders Promote Todd Downing and Jake Peetz

The Oakland Raiders have promoted Todd Downing to offensive coordinator and Jake Peetz to quarterbacks coach, the club announced Saturday.

Downing, who worked closely with Derek Carr over the previous two seasons as quarterbacks coach, enters his 17th campaign as an NFL assistant and his third with the Silver and Black. Carr has developed remarkably under Downing’s tutelage, earning consecutive Pro Bowl selections and setting numerous franchise passing records. In 2016, the third-year quarterback emerged as a Most Valuable Player candidate, passing for 3,937 yards with 28 touchdowns and just six interceptions, while piloting the league’s sixth-ranked offense and executing seven fourth-quarter comebacks, a total that ranks second in league history.
