Raiders’ new safeties bounce back from offseason of injuries

Related Topics: Reggie Nelson, Oakland Raiders

Day 1 of Raiders training camp was truly a glorious one. The sun was out Friday, the Napa scenery was beautiful and on the field, safeties Karl Joseph and Reggie Nelson were suited up and running with the first team.

Joseph, Oakland’s first-round pick, and Nelson, the free-agent signee from the Bengals, had missed all of offseason workouts with injuries.

“It feels great,” Joseph said. “This is what I’ve been working for since I got here, so it feels great to get out there with all the veterans.”

Joseph had knee surgery last season at West Virginia, but is a full go after working with the training staff all offseason.
