The NFL is investigating an online video and whether or not Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith violated the protocols required of a player suspended for violating its substance abuse policy and seeking reinstatement, sources said.
The video, archived in a Periscope account that Smith has appeared on in the past, shows an unidentified man talking with a woman about a hand-held cigarette.
The man in the video is holding the cigarette and says, "they don't know it's me; it's not like I put Aldon Smith ..." just as the 55-second video ends.
Smith is serving a yearlong suspension and will be eligible to apply for reinstatement in September, 60 days before the one-year anniversary of the suspension.
