Last year at this time, I was asked quite a few times what the Raiders potential success in 2014 hinged upon. My answer: Matt Schaub. The Raiders needed him to return to his previous Pro Bowl form to have and chance at success last season. Obviously, as the quarterback, if he played poorly the team would also falter. But this also meant that if he was as bad as he had been in 2013, it would force the Raiders to start Derek Carr as a rookie.
