The Oakland Athletics made it official Thursday placing second baseman Zack Gelof on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain. Infielder Darell Hernaiz was recalled to take Gelof’s spot on the active roster.

Gelof homered in Monday’s series opening win over the Yankees, but it has been an otherwise disappointing start to the season.
