OAKLAND -- Just days after learning they'd be without Jesse Hahn for much of the second half because of a forearm injury, the A's decided to trade Scott Kazmir for a pair of Astros prospects Thursday, leaving yet another hole in their rotation.
"It's going to be a challenge," A's general manager Billy Beane said. "But when you make a trade with a guy like Scott at this time in the year, you're making concessions in understanding that the future is probably more important than the present."
