Reddick off disabled list, back in A's lineup

SAN FRANCISCO -- The A's activated Josh Reddick from the disabled list Tuesday and slotted him in his familiar three-hole in Tuesday's lineup against the Giants, ending his five-week absence after fracturing his left thumb sliding into second base against the Yankees on May 19.

He returns during a stretch where the A's won four of five and, as manager Bob Melvin pointed out, are starting to feel healthier, as Reddick, Sean Manaea and Rich Hill are scheduled to return from the DL this week.

"Whenever you lose your three-hitter, obviously not only production wise but kind of psychologically for the team, that's a guy you really count on.
