Kendall Graveman was great today, much more the sinker-cutter wonder we saw during the spring. Here’s what Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash had to say about him:
“He was mixing in his sinker/cutter combination. We had a tough time with it, obviously, tonight,” Cash said. “He threw some front door cutters, extremely effective to righties. He just kept us off balance enough, kind of criss crossing through the strike zone.”
Graveman also had a much slower (and better) changeup that he used to strike out Asdrubal Cabrera in a big situation in the fifth.
