HOUSTON – The A’s haven’t solved the Astros or Dallas Keuchel.
The left-hander pitched seven scoreless innings in Houston’s 3-1 win over Oakland Friday night at Minute Maid Park. It was Keuchel’s third win this season against the A’s, who have dropped 18 of their last 20 games to the Astros.
Sean Manaea allowed only three runs and six hits over six innings, but the left-hander gave up back-to-back two-out third-inning home runs to Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve.
Matt Joyce, who had two of the A’s five hits and reached base safely three times, homered in the eighth off Chris Devenski for his 18th of the season.
