Contrary to popular belief, all media members aren’t automatically allowed to cover sporting events freely.
When it comes to college athletics, media officials must get cleared by a Sports Information Director (SID) of the university’s athletic department in order to receive credentials.
It is usually a rare occasion when journalists or photographers are denied, but it does happen. And when it happens, members of the media take it lightly, professionally, and might inquire as to the reason why or just move on.
But, this guy is giving journalists a bad name. He sent a spiteful – and quite hilarious – email to Notre Dame’s SID after being denied credentials for the November 21st meeting between Notre Dame and Boston College that will be played inside of Fenway Park.
