Newcastle stunned by 16-year-old Fulham sensation, as Leeds, Reading and Sheffield Wednesday fail to win - Championship round-up

It's been another cracking Saturday afternoon of Championship action. Here's what happened...

Newcastle missed the chance to move clear at the top of the Championship as 16-year-old Ryan Sessegnon inspired Fulham to a fully deserved win at St James' Park.

On Rafa Benitez's first anniversary as Magpies boss, the leaders were stunned by the in-form Cottagers.

Sessegnon, who became the division's youngest-ever goalscorer earlier this season, netted twice after Tom Cairney's opener to add to his burgeoning reputation as one of the game's brightest talents.

Daryl Murphy scored a consolation for Newcastle before Tim Ream missed a late penalty for Fulham but that couldn't take the gloss off an outstanding performance by the visitors, who are now unbeaten in seven matches and just two points off a play-off spot.
