Championship round-up: Brighton move to the top of the table while Aston Villa slump to defeat

Aston Villa slumped to a painful defeat at the hands of Ipswich as Steve Bruce’s side drop to 16th place in the table.

The game looked set to end goalless, but Emyr Huws’ effort seven minutes from time gifted Mick McCarthy’s outfit a shock victory.

The result sees the Tractor Boys into 13th place in the table.

Brighton moved to the top of the Championship after comfortably beating Burton Albion at the Amex Stadium.

The Seagulls took the lead through Tommer Hemed before Sam Baldock and another strike from Hemed handed the hosts a comfortable advantage.
