It was a busy week for Northwestern players in the NFL as Trevor Siemian returned from his shoulder injury and started for the Broncos. However, only two Northwestern players were able to notch victories on the weekend.
After Paxton Lynch was unimpressive last week in a loss to the Falcons, Trevor Siemian returned for the Broncos for a tough Thursday night test at San Diego. Phillip Rivers and the Chargers took an early lead on the Broncos and held on for a 21-13 victory.
Siemian was unable to get much going on offense until late in the game as San Diego’s defense limited Denver’s offense to just 3 points through three quarters.
