Northwestern men’s soccer pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year on Tuesday night, defeating No. 2 Notre Dame 2-1 in extra time at Toyota Park. Senior Mike Roberge provided the winning tally in the 94th minute.
Northwestern (4-9-1) has struggled mightily this season but is now on a two-game winning streak after beating Rutgers 2-1 on October 14. Notre Dame (10-3-1) outshot the hosts 10-7 but managed to put just three attempts on goal.
Sophomore Shannon Seymour opened the scoring with his first career goal coming in the 25th minute, putting the Wildcats ahead 1-0.
