CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI crowned two champions and took second in five other weight classes at the UNI Open Saturday.
Cody Krumwiede and Max Thomsen won titles at 197 pounds and 149 pounds, respectively.
Thomsen dominated the field, earning bonus points in every match. He pinned two wrestlers in the first period and earned two major decisions. He topped it off with a 20-3 tech fall over Iowa State's Blayne Briceno.
"Max scored a lot of points," said head coach Doug Schwab.
