FAIRFAX, Va. — Northern Iowa guard Paul Jesperson recorded his first career double-double as UNI topped George Mason 73-65 at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Va.
The senior scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Seniors Wes Washpun and Matt Bohannon tallied 19 and 14 points, respectively.
The Panthers forced 10 George Mason turnovers in the first half and led 33-26 at the break. The Patriots got as close as 53-52 with 5:46 remaining, but a Bohannon 3-pointer helped give UNI the momentum it needed to get out in front and on a 10-0 run.
