Cayd Lara’s recent recruiting pitch has not required a hard sell.
The Fort Dodge senior-to-be has played sports and been friends with classmates Drew Bennett and Brody Teske since kindergarten, and if they all plan to be Division I wrestlers, why not keep the team together?
But, because Lara is the only one to make a decision — the middleweight committed to Iowa State on July 3 — the Dodgers have become unbelievably popular with college coaches looking for 2018 prospects this summer.
“They haven’t asked too many questions, because we’re all kind of experiencing recruiting together,” Lara said.
