DeKALB – For the Northern Illinois men's basketball team, there was a strength in numbers against Illinois-Chicago.
Despite another monster game from the Flames' leading scorer, the Huskies had four in double figures and they led nearly wire-to-wire in a 92-81 victory in the final day of the NIU Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
UIC sophomore guard Dikembe Dixson, who came into the game tied for ninth in the nation for points per game (24.0), finished with a game-high 31 – going 7 for 12 from the floor and 14 for 20 from the free-throw line.
