RALEIGH – After helping Carolina advance to the Semifinals of the 2016 ACC Softball Championship, Aquilla Mateen and Taylor Wike were named to the ACC Championship All-Tournament Team. Florida State’s Jessica Warren was selected as the Most Valuable Player after leading the Seminoles to their third straight ACC Championship title.
Mateen was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team for the second time in her career after landing on the postseason team as a sophomore in 2014. The Siler City, North Carolina, native propelled the Tar Heels to victory in the ACC Quarterfinals by going 3-for-3 with a run scored against Boston College.
