Vince Carter’s number to be retired by the Brooklyn Nets

On Wednesday morning, the Brooklyn Nets announced on social media that they will retire Vince Carter’s No. 15 jersey. The former Tar Heel, who played under Dean Smith and Bill Guthridge, played five seasons with the Nets and was surprised by former teammate Jason Kidd in a video sharing the news.

Carter played a lengthy NBA career for a handful of teams, but left quite the mark with the Nets -- who were formerly in New Jersey -- when he was there.
