CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina Softball beings the 2021 season at South Carolina's Carolina Classic Friday through Sunday in Columbia, South Carolina.
The Tar Heels kick off the season Friday with a doubleheader vs. UNCG at 2:30 p.m. and host No. 19 South Carolina at 5 p.m. The Tar Heels and Gamecocks rematch on Saturday at 4 p.m. before wrapping up the weekend against UNCG for a second time on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Carolina leads the series against UNCG, 68-16, but dropped the most recent meeting in 2020. The Gamecocks have the edge against UNC, 49-15, yet Carolina won the most recent meeting in 2019.
