Freshman Austin Hitt shot a 3-under-par 69 on Tuesday and the University of North Carolina played the final round of the Puerto Rico Classic in 7-over to finish 11th at the Rio Mar Country Club.
Hitt finished the three-day event tied for 12th with a 1-under total of 215. Georgia Tech’s Luke Schniederjans won medalist honors by one stroke after shooting a final round 65 and finishing at 10-under-par.
Clemson won the team title by 11 strokes over runner-up Georgia. The Tigers played 3-under today and finished at -19.
UNC junior William Register bounced back after a rough first 36 holes to shoot a 71 today and finish the event tied for 58th at +12.
