Gallen To Start All-Star Game For NL

From wire and staff reports

SEATTLE — Former UNC and current Arizona Diamondbacks' pitcher Zac Gallen will start Tuesday night's Major League Baseball All-Star Game for the National League.

The two-time All-ACC performer is the second Tar Heel in the last 10 years to be selected as the starting pitcher for the National League, joining Matt Harvey who got the nod in 2013 as a member of the New York Mets.

He is the fourth Tar Heel overall to start an MLB All-Star Game along with Harvey, Walt Weiss (1998) and Brian Roberts (2005).
