MALIBU, Calif. - Junior All-America Hayley Carter earned a first-round victory on Friday at the 2015 Oracle/ITA Masters at Malibu Racquet Club.
Carter, from Hilton Head, S.C., won in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6 (4) over Michigan’s Ronit Yurovsky. She will face Giuliana Olmos of USC on Saturday after she upset second-seed Stephanie Wagner in three-sets.
In doubles, Carter and senior Whitney Kay fell 2-6, 5-7 to the No. 2 seed from 2015 NCAA team champion Vanderbilt - Sydney Campbell and Courtney Colton.
