Kirk committed to North Carolina State on Monday, but by Monday evening, John Calipari and Kentucky offered Kirk a scholarship, but it appears that wasn’t enough to sway him.
Kirk chose the Wolfpack over offers from VCU, Cal, Baylor, and Auburn, so he’s got some decent offers, but an offer from UK this late was still surprising to see for Calipari.
Over the weekend, Kirk played in the adidas Gauntlet event in Indianapolis and N.C. State head coach Mark Gottfried was present at both of his games on Sunday. Calipari was also there, and he apparently liked what he saw enough to offer Kirk a scholarship.
