Twenty-year-old MacKinnon will look to return to his rookie form after a bit of a sophomore slump last season. The Halifax native tallied 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points last season, a drop from his 24-39-63 freshman campaign. The dip in production also correlated to the Avs dropping from a 50-win team to a high-30 win team. Another 60+ point season from MacKinnon would go a long way towards helping boost Colorado from 23rd in goals last season back to 4th, where they were during their Central Division-winning 2013-2014 season (MacKinnon’s first year).
