New York Rangers defenseman and captain Ryan McDonagh will not return to Saturday afternoon's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, the team announced, after he got into a scuffle with forward Wayne Simmonds behind the play during first-period action.
McDonagh took a slash to the left leg and then a punch to the jaw by Simmonds before going down. The extent of the injury has not been disclosed as of yet.
