Marian Hossa hits a major milestone

Marian Hossa became the 44th player in NHL history to score 500 goals when he tallied once for the Ottawa Senators in a 7-4 win over the Flyers

Hossa, in his 19th NHL season, is the third player to reach a goal-scoring milestone of at least 500 goals in the last two seasons. Jarome Iginla of the Colorado Avalanche scored his 600th goal on Jan. 4, 2016, and Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals preceded Hossa in reaching the 500-goal threshold on Jan. 10, 2016.

Hossa tied Lanny McDonald for 43rd place on the NHL’s all-time goal list.
