San Diego Chargers finally get first-round DE Joey Bosa under contract

The longest, most contentious rookie holdout since the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement is over.

The Chargers signed No. 3 overall pick Joey Bosa to a four-year deal Monday.

"We look forward to having Joey join us and getting him prepared as quickly as possible for the 2016 season,” said GM Tom Telesco.

Bosa, the former Ohio State star, missed the entirety of San Diego's training camp and the first three preseason games while holding out over two contract specifics: offset language and the deferment of his bonus money.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chargers gave Bosa the largest up-front signing bonus in team history, but they did get offset language in the contract, which dictates how much of his contract would have to be paid out if he didn't finish his four-year contract.
