N.F.L. Scores: Seahawks and Cardinals Flex Defensive Muscles

The game was billed as Carson Palmer against Russell Wilson, but all of the scoring in the first half of an N.F.C. West grudge match between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks came from Chandler Catanzaro. The Cardinals’ placekicker had a 46-yard field goal, and that was the difference in the first half of a 3-0 game.

Beyond Catanzaro, it was all defense for both teams. Seattle’s vaunted Legion of Boom held the powerful Arizona offense to 174 yards of total offense. The underrated Cardinals defense was even better, limiting Russell Wilson and the Seahawks to 47 yards despite Patrick Peterson missing time with an injury.
