Jaguars’ Johnathan Cyprien out for preseason

Jaguars strong safety Johnathan Cyprien made his preseason debut Friday night against the Steelers, but he won’t be on the field in the preseason again.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said today that Cyprien suffered a broken finger in his right hand and will miss the rest of the preseason, via Jacksonville.com.

Cyprien will not need surgery, and the Jaguars hope he can play Week One. Josh Evans and Craig Loston will see more playing time at strong safety in Cyprien’s absence.

The first pick of the second round of the 2013 NFL draft, Cyprien has started 30 games in his first two NFL seasons.
