FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Atlanta Falcons safety and South Florida native Kemal Ishmael just saw Steadman Bailey at Cool J's clothing store in Miami during the bye week.
To Ishmael, the St. Louis Rams receiver appeared healthy and happy despite serving a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Two weeks later, Bailey is recovering from surgery after being shot twice in the head while in Miami Gardens.
"My prayers up to him, and God's watching over him," Ishmael said. "I hope he comes back healthy and able to do what he loves.
