Chicago Bears Notes: RB Jordan Howard surprised league and team with rookie performance

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — It’s hard to blame anyone for not predicting that a fifth-round pick buried on the depth chart would be on the brink of the Bears’ single-season rushing record.

Dowell Loggains didn’t see it coming, but once Howard got healthy and his opportunities in games, the talent was apparent.

“I’m going to be real honest when I say this: I didn’t the greatness in Jordan in OTAs and training camp,” Loggains said Thursday. “Part of it was because he was hurt. Part of it is because he’s a much better player when the shoulder pads are on and it’s live.
