Browns coach says Johnny Manziel “very much in our plans”

AP

Browns coach Mike Pettine is aware of the report that the Browns have largely moved on from quarterback Johnny Manziel.

He just doesn’t believe it.

Via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Pettine told reporters today he put no stock in it.

“I filed that one in the ridiculous category,” Pettine said. “He’s very much in our plans.”

The Browns have invested a first round pick in the guy recently, and they brought in a solid veteran in Josh McCown, so there’s no reason to bail out on Manziel at the moment (especially if they’re working as hard behind the scenes to get Marcus Mariota as we suspect they are, and Pettine didn’t shoot that down).
