Ex-Newcastle captain Steven Taylor signs for League One Peterborough: 'I want to win things'

Former Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has signed for Sky Bet League One side Peterborough.

The 31-year-old centre-half, who made over 250 appearances for the Magpies over 13 years, has agreed a two-year deal with Posh.

Taylor had a brief spell with Major League Soccer franchise the Portland Timbers before joining Championship side Ipswich on a short-term contract late last season.

The former England Under-21 captain, who was selected for senior international squads but never capped, said: 'I want to win things and, when I spoke to the manager Grant McCann, I just wanted to get everything sorted.
