Yankees Trade Rumors: New York Targeting Dustin Ackley

The New York Yankees recently reached out to the Mariners to discuss a possible trade for Dustin Ackley, according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News.

The two sides reportedly discussed a deal that would send outfield prospects Ramon Flores and Ben Gamel would’ve gone to Seattle, but Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik wanted more for Ackley.

Talks have "cooled" between the two sides, though the Yankees are still very interested in getting a deal done.

Ackley, the former No. 2 overall pick in the MLB draft, is struggling again this season, posting a measly .215/.270/.366 batting line.

Flores ranked 27th on MLB.com’s midseason edition of the Yankees’ Top 30 prospects, while Gamel didn’t make the list, making it understandable that the Mariners want a little bit more for Ackley.
